Job description
Financial Analyst
The Financial Analyst provides both technical and business analytical support to Maple Reinders Group and its affiliated companies in such a manner as to provide timely and accurate preparation and analysis of data related to project performance and the fiscal budget. In addition to proactively monitoring business trends and identifying risks and opportunities, this role will leverage strong business partnerships to focus on cost management, performance analysis, and providing ad hoc business partner support.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and prepare annual budgets with business unit leaders.
- Prepare monthly budget variance analysis for business units and advise on risks and opportunities to include in forecast updates.
- Analyze, review, and provide insights to Project Managers and Senior Leaders regarding project progress and performance metrics.
- Complete month-end closing tasks including the review of project projections, WIP entry, cost allocations, and other adjusting entries.
- Analyze monthly KPIs and make recommendations to Senior Leaders.
- Manage subcontract invoicing and payments: ensure alignment with project progress, contract values, terms and compliance requirements.
- Resolve subcontractor requests of statement variances.
- Support A/P on project specific requests that require liaising with project managers to determine appropriate resolution.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
- 3+ years of experience in financial planning and/or analysis.
- Obtained or in the process of obtaining designation (i.e. CPA, CFA, MBA).
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, in particular the analytical features of the program.
- Proficient in MS Office and Windows-based computer applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
- Ability to use/learn industry specific software programs such as Timberline.
- Results-driven behaviour, analytical thinking, intellectual curiosity, solid organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000 / Year (Depending on Experience)
