Job description

KR-17757

Founded in 1785, the University of New Brunswick (UNB) is proud to be one of the first public universities in North America. UNB has 10,000 students from nearly 100 countries and contributes significantly to the provincial economy with an annual impact of $1.8 billion per year. UNB employs more than 3,200 full and part-time staff, including faculty, support staff, and students. They value their people and have proudly been named as one of Canada's Top 100 Employers and one of Atlantic Canada's Top Employers.

The Central Heating Plant (CHP) provides steam for heat and processes to the UNB Campus as well as St. Thomas University, Provincial Archives, Research and Productivity Council, and the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. It is comprised of several boilers for redundancy, and on average, nearly 50% of the annual steam production is by renewable wood biomass, with the remainder coming from natural gas, or #6 fuel oil as an emergency backup. The CHP is currently at the beginning of renewing the biomass boiler to ensure UNB's environmental stewardship continues. This is the final phase of a 10-year long multimillion-dollar renewal plan to maintain reliability for several decades.

Meridia is happy to partner with UNB in their search for a Superintendent to join their team at the UNB campus in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
