Job description
Our client is a group of global companies in the Tri-Cities area. The Senior Accountant will report to the Group Controller. You will be responsible for financial statement preparation and day-to-day transactional accounting for two of the companies in the group. Responsibilities will grow over time.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with month-over-month and budget variance analysis on a monthly basis.
- Responsible for identifying and preventing discrepancies, and ensuring integrity of the GL
- Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and updating schedules, including intercompany accounts
- Assist with year-end audits.
- Assist in continuous improvement activities, from idea generating to implementation.
- Assist in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices.
- Participate in cash flow planning involving multiple currencies.
- Perform ad hoc tasks, reports, and other activities as required by management.
- Assist with ERP configuration for further integration work Epicor.
- Support policy development and administration.
- Assess process and controls on an ongoing basis, update documentation, and recommend improvements. Prepare daily bank reconciliations.
- Communicate with bank for any payment processing related issues.
- Post incoming customer cheques and wire payments.
- Review the list of AR accounts and work with the Controller on collections.
- Respond to Customer inquiries for account reconciliations.
- Process accounts payable transactions and reconcile subledgers.
- Review orders on hold and research reasons.
- Process period end, including journal entries, commissions calculations, and more.
- Perform GL account reconciliations.
Qualifications:
- CPA student or recent graduate
- Four to six years of Accounting experience.
- Strength on Excel
- Experience in multi-currency environment.
- Manufacturing industry experience
- ERP Experience, ideally EPICOR
- Some public practice would be ideal.
- Small office and team require a person who can work in open office space.
