Job description
Acuren is currently recruiting for CWB Level 2 Inspectors to support projects in the Fort McMurray area. If you are seeking a dynamic industrial environment with opportunities for individual growth and learning, this is for you.
Position Information:
Project Based/ Outage
- Call Out/Project based
- 6/1 Shift, 12 hours/day (Pending client requirement)
- Project starting approx. March 8th and Mid-May.
- May require travel to various work site locations throughout Fort McMurray
- Accommodations and travel provided
- Observes work in progress to assure conformance with requirements and acceptable workmanship
- Inspection of process piping, power piping and structures from material verification stage to final commissioning and installation
- Utilizes applicable procedures, codes, and standards to evaluate test and inspection reports, recommending acceptable or rejection/or rejection
- Experience reviewing Work Scope Packages
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- CWB Level 2 Welding Inspector Certification
- IRATA certified
- 3-5 years’ experience as Welding Supervisor or Welding Examiner
- Knowledge of pressure and pneumatic testing methods and procedures
- Endorsements to CSA W59 and B31.3 preferred or willing to obtain certifications prior to job start.
- Experience with ABSA Pressure B welding is preferred
- Knowledge of NDT methods (x-ray/radiographic, mag-particle, liquid penetrant, etc.,) is an asset
- Observes work in progress to assure conformance with requirements and acceptable workmanship
- Inspection of process piping, power piping and structures from material verification stage to final commissioning and installation
- Utilizes applicable procedures, codes, and standards to evaluate test and inspection reports, recommending acceptable or rejection/or rejection
- Experience reviewing Work Scope Packages
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Bluebeam Revu Software considered an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies
