Job description
The Prepress Technician is responsible for supporting the workflow of the Digital Services department. They ensure conformance to all Health and Safety Policies, Rules and Regulations and general housekeeping standards. The incumbent is expected to meet or exceed production, efficiency, and quality requirements at all times.
This is a contract role, running to the end of December 2024.
- This position would have a focus on step and repeat impositions and computer to plate support.
- Utilize various Esko and Adobe software applications to produce Print-ready files (colour manage, trap, proof, 3D, step, and Rip to Tiff/LEN)
- Follow established procedures and quality control steps
- Focus on continuous improvement.
- Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, small team environment.
- Perform housekeeping and other related duties as required
- Effective communication, time management and strong organizational skills
- Basic understanding of folding carton manufacturing process with working knowledge of carton styles, board types, print, die cutting and gluing operations for day-to-day file preparation and troubleshooting.
- Solid understanding of Esko software, Automation Engine, Plato, Artios, Cad or relevant Prepress software.
- Basic understanding of all Esko software solutions workflows
- Solid understanding of CAD operations, dieline, 3D, coater programming
- Solid understanding of colour management, (colour reproduction theory, proofing (icc), CCJ, press curves)
- Fully proficient computer knowledge Microsoft and MacOS, Microsoft and Adobe Creative Cloud
- Fully Proficient understanding of Digital File Processing and imposition (Litho and Flexo), and relevant outputs.
- Must be able to work a biweekly rotational shift schedule of days (7am-3pm) and afternoons (3pm-11pm.)
