Job description
Reporting to the Regional Director of Sales and Operations for BC, the Field Sales Director is responsible for providing coaching and leadership for the BC sales team and overseeing execution in all sales channels in the assigned region. They will be responsible for implementing effective and innovative strategies that uphold the integrity of the Dandurand brand and help grow Dandurand share in the province.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to a regional sales team of 8 and foster a culture of success, accountability, professional development, high performance and ethical behaviour.
- Develop and implement sales strategies, tactics and operational plans for sales and distribution of wines within the Dandurand portfolio.
- Accountable for delivering upon regional targets such as revenue, volume, market share and points of distribution.
- Manage key customer relationships (with a focus on Chains, Independent and On-Premise Channels) and actively participate in closing strategic opportunities.
- Support and develop all sales representatives through coaching and training initiatives.
- Develop weekly, monthly and quarterly sales initiatives and goals.
- Track, rank and publish results.
- Lead Bi-Weekly Sales Meetings setting priorities and reviewing performance of the team.
- Create Quarterly Launch Presentations communicating important priorities and ensure supporting tools are in place.
- Identify sales objectives by territory.
- Collaborate with customer marketing team to ensure strong execution of consumer programming.
- Provide competitive analysis for brand performance and competitive set.
- Monitor and review expense reports to effectively manage the T&E budget.
- Correspond proactively with all corporate partners to maintain positive and long-term business relationship.
- Develop and oversee daily/weekly route planning with all sales representatives.
- Ensure discipline and implementation of the CRM tool.
- Manage and oversee supplier visits.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration
- Experience in the alcoholic beverage industry (an asset)
- Minimum of 5 years of Consumer Packaged Goods experience with Beverage Alcohol (an asset)
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of Sales management experience leading high performing teams
Qualifications
- Experience in the alcoholic beverage industry (an asset)
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel and PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with Sales CRM tools (EZ Focus an asset)
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and dynamic leadership capabilities
- Strong planning, organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to develop effective presentations
- Exceptional analytical skills
- Familiarity managing budgets
- Displays an entrepreneurial spirit and is highly self-motivated
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and respect tight deadlines
- Proven success building a market strategy and corporate sales plan
- Available to attend periodic evening and weekend events
- Own a car and a valid driver’s license
