Job description

We are seeking a dynamic Red Seal ticketed Maintenance Supervisor for a manufacturing company, who leads the way in their industry, but has a close-knit team keeping it running.
The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of management and technical skills, with a passion for improving processes and a commitment to excellence. This role involves leading a unionized team, managing maintenance activities, and actively participating in the day-to-day operations of manufacturing lines.

Annual salary ranging from $90,000 to $110,000, depending on experience.
Day shift: 7:30am - 3pm, Mon to Fri (flexible)

Responsibilities

What you'll be doing:

-Lead and manage a unionized team of 14 skilled individuals (all red seals). This includes scheduling, daily toolbox talks, health and safety procedures, coaching, mentoring, and more.
-Be actively involved in the manufacturing lines, making decisions on preventive maintenance, repairs, contractor engagement, rebuilds, and upcoming projects.
-Work closely with contractors to ensure the smooth execution of maintenance activities.
-Implement and champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
-Using your familiarity with all aspects of the plants manufacturing lines, including: positive displacement pumps, valves, VFDs, chain drives, PLCs (Allen Bradley), boilers, simple heaters, simple refrigeration, conveyors, various sensors (temperature, photo-eye, weight/load), and packaging equipment to ensure the plant is at peak performance.

Qualifications
What you bring:

Red Seal certification is required (Industrial Electrician, Millwright, or a 3rd Class Power Eng)

Flexibility in schedule, with the ability to respond to calls during off-hours, including the ability to respond to calls outside regular shift times.
Strong process-oriented mindset with a commitment to learning and development.
Solid experience in manufacturing lines is essential.
CMMS experience, preferably with knowledge of both Excel-based and SAP systems.
Familiarity with manufacturing equipment, including: Strong decision-making skills in preventive maintenance, repairs, and project management.
Previous experience working with a union is preferred.
