Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Psychiatrist to join our team, specializing in the treatment of depression, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT). The successful candidate will work with individuals experiencing a range of mental health issues, with a focus on depression and related disorders.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and treat mental health disorders with a focus on depression, utilizing a variety of methods including medication management, CBT, and ECT.
- Provide comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans through a virtual platform.
- Conduct regular sessions with patients, offering therapeutic interventions and monitoring progress.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care.
- Prescribe and administer medications according to diagnosis.
- Monitor patients to determine efficacy and potential side effects of medications.
- Develop a treatment plan, measure progress against the plan, and make adjustments as needed.
- Stay updated with the latest research and advancements in psychiatry, particularly related to depression, CBT, and ECT.
- Offer crisis intervention services as needed.
- Maintain detailed patient records and ensure confidentiality and ethical care.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Medical Degree with specialization in Psychiatry.
- Valid license to practice Psychiatry in Quebec.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of French is an asset.
- Proven experience in treating depression, and certified training in CBT and ECT.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience.
- Ease with digital tools and virtual platforms for patient consults.
- Knowledge of newest advances in AI use and application in mental health treatment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- This role requires a compassionate individual committed to patient-centered care, with a deep understanding of psychiatric disorders and effective treatment modalities.
