What can I expect to do in this role?
In this role you will:
• support three enforcement related programs by providing administrative support for all court related activities
• prepare Informations, Summonses, Notices of Disclosure, and other court required documents
• liaise and communicate with the Provincial Courts, prosecutors and defense representatives regarding various Ministry court activities
• perform varied duties in court, handling confidential case files
• coordinate court services for officers
How do I qualify?
Mandatory
• You have a valid class “G2” driver's license or equivalent as recognized by the Province of Ontario
Analytical and Interpreting Legislation Skills
• You have problem-solving, analytical and research skills with proven judgment to accurately review and complete documentation
• You have demonstrated abilities to understand and interpret legislation (such as Provincial Offences Act, Highway Traffic Act, Public Vehicles Act, Motor Vehicle Transport Act, Fuel Tax Act, Dangerous Goods Transportation Act, Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act etc.) and to review and process complex documents
• You have knowledge of legal procedures and terminology to prepare summonses, disclosures that comply with generally accepted legal practices
Essential Skills
• You have organizational skills to coordinate multiple schedules and activities
• You are able to work independently and in a team environment
• You have effective oral and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills to connect with members of the court, public and staff
• You are proficient using a variety of computer software including word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation and Outlook applications
