Our Fleet Department is seeking a Full- Time Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team in our office at 0 Freshway in Concord, ON.

Requirements

• Must have a valid Inter-provincial Red Seal Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic qualification (Off road and On road certified)
• CVIP certified / Experience

Must have experience in the following:

• Maintenance and repair of internal combustion engines and components, both stationary and mobile
• Certified in off-road and on-road vehicle maintenance
• maintenance and repair of gas engines, diesel engines, and compressors
• maintenance and repair of tracked equipment (e.g. crawler tractors)
• maintenance and repair of ground engaging equipment and components
• maintenance and repair of earth moving equipment
• maintenance and repair of tractors
• maintenance and repair of on-highway and off-highway motor vehicles (e.g. trucks)
• maintenance and repair of towed on-highway and off-highway vehicles (e.g. trailers)

• Must be able to interpret work orders and technical manuals
• Keep equipment cleaned, lubricated and maintained
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems
• General testing and repairs of equipment for proper performance, ensuring that the work is done meets manufacturers' specifications and legislated regulations
• Write detailed and accurate service/maintenance reports
• Mentor and provide sufficient training with Heavy Duty Mechanic apprentices as required
• Have a valid class 5 driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract
• Must be willing to travel out of town when required
• Performed all other duties as assigned
• The qualified candidates must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic, must be skilled in the area of diagnostics on the engine, transmission and hydraulic systems, and must be able to perform CVIP inspections. Preference will be given to applicants with utility equipment experience (digger, crane and backhoe). Class 1 or 3 driver’s license is an asset.
