The Technical Coordinator is responsible for all technical requirements and support for our Newfoundland operations, including Master Control facilities, remote production setups, on-air equipment and the handling of all installation, maintenance and repair requirements for the four Rogers tv stations within the province. They are also constantly in liaison with the national engineering team, NL Station Manager and staff members to ensure the operations are running efficiently, as per Rogers’ procedures and regulations.
What you'll be doing:
Perform technical maintenance and troubleshooting for Rogers TV production facilities in St. John’s, Gander, Grand Falls-Windsor and Corner Brook, NL.
Support master control operations in each Newfoundland market.
Develop preventative maintenance plan..
Liaise with management, production staff and volunteers, to respond to their technical faults, issues and priorities.
Assess faults, prioritize and report on completion or remedy.
Provide on-site technical support for productions as assigned.
Recommend, test, purchase and install new equipment and systems.
Do research and provide training on new installations as required.
Support and maintain Rogers TV’s local IT systems including servers, network infrastructure, applications.
Be responsible for technical integrity of automation equipment in NL. Oversee and review file delivery, automation management, and playback continuity through regular checks and adjustments.
Work with staff, and provide training, as required, on ingesting and uploading content. Establish standards to ensure flawless execution of content through automation.
Perform all required administrative duties including fault reports, monthly reports, time and attendance, expenses, purchasing and ordering of equipment, etc.

College diploma in Electronics and/or Computer Sciences or equivalent experience, specializing in television-radio broadcasting systems.
Minimum of 5 years related experience in television-radio broadcasting systems and In-depth working knowledge of television production and editing.
In-depth knowledge of analog and digital video and audio systems, solid understanding of broadcast engineering relevant to digital production environment, automated server-based master control operations.
Advanced knowledge of Windows based systems and experience with UNIX-based systems.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD
Highly computer literate with demonstrated competence using desktop applications including Microsoft Office, Adobe, Dashboard, Magnum, or similar technology.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Ability to work under pressure, with minimal supervision at remote locations, including managing multiple conflicting priorities.
Detail oriented and able to establish, communicate and meet deadlines.
Ensure all company policies and legal requirements under applicable Health and Safety Legislation are met or exceeded.
Minimum of 5 years experience in project management and able to lead capital projects within established timelines and budget as required.
Valid NL class 5 license with excellent driving and workplace safety records.
Be available, on a rotating basis, for after-hours support and must also be able to travel to Central and Western Newfoundland as required. Be willing to work flexible hours as required for special projects.
