We are looking for a Technical Officer, Electrical Power Measurements to support our Metrology Research Centre. The Technical Officer would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.  

 

The Technical Officer provides technical (electrical, electronic, computer, mechanical, organizational, logistical and other) support, and systems oversight in the day-to-day operations of the laboratory. If successful, you will be part of the Electrical Power Measurement (EPM) team. As a technical officer in the EPM team, you will perform testing and calibration of high voltage, high current and power measuring equipment. You will also work with the team leader, calibration service project manager, researchers and technical officers in order to develop scope of work, assess the feasibility and estimate the resources needed to perform calibration projects of high voltage, high current or power measuring equipment. You will also work with your team to maintain the calibration facility in the high voltage lab, test and validate the functionality of the calibration equipment and maintain quality records and documentation under the quality management system of the Metrology Research Centre at NRC.

Education

A University Degree in Engineering or a Technical College Diploma in Electronics Engineering or a similar field.

Compensation

From $73,744 to $94,839 per annum.
