Job description
This is a contract position for a Business Analyst for our public sector client.
Work location: Downtown Toronto
Duration: Four Months
7.25 hours/day
This is a Hybrid role that requires the candidate to be onsite 2 days of the week (This is a mandatory requirement of the role and is non-negotiable outside of exceptional circumstances.)

Responsibilities
Work in partnership with clients, advising them on information technology in order to meet their business objectives or overcome problems, work to improve structure and efficiency of an organization’s I&IT systems.
Consult with clients on the changes/modifications, provide recommendations and develop training plans
Collaborate with Business Intelligence Specialist on determining which data analytics to track and develop performance measures and traceability matrices for business analysis evaluation
Meet with the Product Owner, Product Manager and end-users to understand the team’s work
Facilitate and lead in-depth workshops to elicit, review and confirm business requirements, business models, business rules, user, interface design
Uses requirements traceability matrix to link users’ requirements, business rules and conditions to systems use cases and test cases
Analyze user requirements, generation of prototypes for user consultation and the design, testing, documentation, implementation and maintenance of applications.
Is able to identify constraints and assumptions and then documents and present them to project teams
Proactive in completing priorities and deliverables as well as ensuring requirements are well-understood, documented, and accurate.
Participates in planning application development activities, provides direction, guidance and support to technical staff
Establish the backlog as a source of truth from which the team can deliver
Provide systems analysis and design expertise in the development and maintenance of the Ministry application systems
Provide guidance to organization with regard to information management & IT technology, IT infrastructures and the enablement of major business processes through enhancements to IT
Qualifications
Research and Analysis Skills:
Ability to collaborate with business divisions to collect technical needs for data and analytics platforms, analyze business processes, existing KPIs and suggest internal improvements, enhanced KPI and metrics collection and other data-driven responsibilities.
Experience in exploring how organisations operate and track KPIs via research, which could include interviewing employees and collecting quantitative data
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills to summarize information and ideas
Problem Solving Skills:
Experience collaborating with managers and other corporate clients to determine which data, KPIs and metrics are required to address their concerns
Design and Software Skills:
Experience developing business pans, identifying new technology or systems that could be implemented, or developing new processes or procedures
