The Position: The Respiratory Equipment Specialist (RES) Alberta & Saskatchewan is responsible for all sales activities as it relates to the Ventilation and Pulmonary Function portfolios. This position will be required to work closely with the Regional Manager, Manager of Respiratory Care, RDX clinical team, technical service, and all cross-functional teams at THS. The RES Alberta & Saskatchewan rep will be responsible for selling, implementing, in-servicing and servicing customers for all products within the RES portfolio. The RES is the primary contact with customers and is accountable for building market share within all product categories and providing support for clinical applications of the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
Business Planning and Development
- Ensure the development, maintenance, and execution of the sales plan for the territory to achieve the sales target.
- Be the primary contact with customers and provide support for clinical applications of the portfolio.
- Develop and grow a multi-year capital pipeline.
- Remain abreast and capitalize upon opportunities/changes within the territory.
Sales
- Assume a lead role in the development of the capital sales process.
- Collaborate with the Territory Associates to ensure that all capital technologies are fully supported within all stages of the capital sales process.
- Ensure capital lines are well positioned and provide customer direction on the shaping of RFP opportunities.
- Maintain a current customer account database.
- Utilize provided business development tools (CRM).
Communication & Administration:
- Maintain regular and ongoing communication with the Regional Manager and Marketing Manager, Respiratory & Anesthesia.
- Ensure communication is safe, effective, and informative regarding issues which may affect the quality of service or products.
- Provide capital status updates as required.
- Maintain the regional capital pipeline and provide monthly forecasts on all capital opportunities.
- Ensure competitive information or data on products is provided to Marketing.
Education and Experience:
- Post secondary degree in Business, Medical Sciences, or equivalent
- A medical clinical designation (ie. Respiratory Therapist, Nurse, etc.) is an asset.
- Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of previous work experience in hospital medical device sales.
- Experience with National GPOs and Provincial SSOs
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft suite of products.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work projects.
- Bilingual in French, both written and oral is an asset.
Essential Duties:
- Proficient presentation skills
- Ability to travelAbility to lift and/or move up to 50lbs (23kg).
Working Conditions:
- Home Office / Field Setting
- Frequent interruptions.
- A full class driver’s license, and at least three (3) years’ driving experience with an ongoing satisfactory driver’s abstract is required.
- A clear vulnerable sector/ criminal background check, appropriate for working in the hospital environment.
- Compensation based on a regular work week of thirty-seven and one half (37.5) working hours, with additional working hours as required to meet ongoing business demands and to fulfill job responsibilities.
