Financial Controller

Canada: up to $110,000 CAD per year

Location: Canada

Your Role:

If you love startup culture, are able to move fast, and are passionate about numbers, this job may be for you! We are seeking a highly experienced accountant that can do all the bookkeeping, reconciliation and reporting for our entities, which include a mortgage lending company, a fund, a special purpose entity with mortgage collateral. We use crypto as a form of payment, so some knowledge or interest in cryptocurrencies would be great.

Responsibilities:

• Bookkeeping, reconciliation and reporting 
• Accounts payable using Bill.com
• Month end reporting across different entities 
• GAAP best practices 
• Work with outside CPA firms, fund managers and auditors
• Help with vendor negotiations to decrease costs where needed

 

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree
• 5+ years in accounting, 
• Experience working for a lender or an asset manager required
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel
• GAAP knowledge
• Some understanding or interest in crypto
• Ability to work independently
