Your new role
As Supply Chain Director, you will oversee and manage the company's overall supply chain, including logistics and purchasing functions. Your role will be pivotal in maximizing process efficiency, reducing costs, enhancing product quality, and ensuring timely delivery to meet customer demands. You will be instrumental in integrating innovative technologies and practices into supply chain processes to maintain our competitive edge in delivering digital signage networks and other related retail marketing technologies to our customers in the global lottery industry.
International Manufacturing Liaison:
- Act as the primary liaison with our exclusive contract manufacturer in China, who builds our electronic lottery signs based on our proprietary designs. Activities include managing the contractual and commercial relationship, product design optimization and transfer, purchasing specific components and products, and ensuring alignment with our quality standards, production timelines, and overall customer commitments.
- Develop strategies for optimizing supply chain efficiency and cost-effectiveness, specifically tailored to the unique requirements of electronics manufacturing across international borders.
Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Craft and execute a logistics plan that cost-effectively supports the needs of the company customer base, including the procurement of components, assembly, and distribution of their products from our exclusive contract manager in China, our parent company’s supply chain, and our Calgary warehouse and RMA Centre.
Supply Chain Management:
- Manage the entire supply chain operations for our lottery retail marketing products, from raw material procurement through to the distribution of finished goods, emphasizing the importance of quality control and timely delivery.
Vendor and Customer Relationship Management:
- Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, vendors, and freight forwarders with a focus on those specializing in electronics components and products, both domestically and internationally, particularly in China and North America.
- Oversee the multi-stakeholder planning and coordination of retail installations for customers that require it.
- Support customer facing team members with timely information and updates regarding product delivery planning and arrival.
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in logistics/supply chain management within the electronics manufacturing industry, including experience working with offshore contract manufacturers, ideally China-based contract manufacturers.
- Expertise in navigating the complexities of the electronics manufacturing sector, including regulatory, logistical, and market challenges in global operations.
- Proven ability to manage complex supply chains and logistics operations with a focus on electronics products, including successful negotiation for component parts and services such as communications and installation.
- Willing to work 100% of the time at the company's Calgary head office/warehouse/RMA centre, while being enabled to work from home if/when necessary.
- Ability to build positive relationships and work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Experience with digital signage.
- Familiarity with the Lottery & Gaming Industry and/or Retail.
- A sense of humour.
