Job description


Wheaton Kia is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Management team in the position of Controller. Wheaton Kia is a full-service automotive dealership, retailing an award-winning line up of cars, SUVs, and minivans in the Regina Market. We are a part of the Wheaton Automotive group proudly serving Saskatchewan, and Western Canada for 65 years.

Reporting to the General Manager, the controller will have comprehensive experience in full cycle accounting. The successful candidate will provide accurate information to the General Manager and Dealer principal, including analysis, forecasting and preparation of financial reports. The Controller is also responsible for directing, managing and maintaining the company's accounting functions.

Responsibilities and Duties:
-Monitor the financial performance of the company
-Compile and analyze financial reports
-Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with established
company and regulatory procedures
-Communicate financial metrics to senior management
-Provide leadership and support to accounting/admin department
-Manage the preparation of payroll for personnel and keep up to date
on current HR trends
-Manage the accounting operations of the dealership
-Work with external auditors
-All reporting to various external agencies
-Hiring, training, mentoring and supervising accounting/admin staff

Qualifications and Skills:
-Accounting degree or designation, or equivalent combination of
related experience and education
-Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, practices and
procedures
-Thorough knowledge of relevant federal, provincial and local
reporting requirements
-Impeccable analytical and organizational skills, self-motivated and
self-directed
-Ability to work closely with a senior management team
