IT Project Controller

Our client, a very well-known North American energy company is looking to hire for an IT Project Coordinator on a 9 month contract.
Your New Role:
Client is looking for a Senior Project Controller to support part of Information Services Project portfolio on an ongoing basis.
Reporting to the Manager, IS PMO, this position provides project controls support services in the areas of project initiation, cost management, change management, schedule progress measurement, reporting and project close out; specific to our Network & Growth portfolio. This role collaborates with project managers on the development and review of project plan, estimate, schedule, risk and contractual requirements. It will develop and implement project controls and monitoring procedures to ensure the achievement of project schedule and cost objectives. In addition, it collects, analyzes and reports on project data and costs from various stakeholders (e.g., engineering, procurement, construction and accounting).
• Provide Project Controls both at the project and portfolio level
• Review and provide input into Estimate and maps to the control WBS
• Set up control WBS and budgets in SAP
• Develop and maintain project controls plan for all key areas of project controls
• Review required project documentation during project assurance reviews and provide feedback to project teams
• Review schedule, provide input, and maintain list of project key milestones
• Ensure project has appropriate AFE funding
• Review schedule and other forecast drivers to update project time phasing for control budget and estimate to complete
• Complete requisitions for commitment of project materials and services
• Complete incurred costs reporting and variance explanations
• Monitor cost and committed to budget and forecast
• Update cost management system with time phased data, vendor or project progress and project trends
• Review project invoices to ensure that costs align with incurred costs
• Analyze data to establish the differences in initial vendor estimates during RFP and contract award
• Review vendor cost and progress and provide input to estimate at completion
• Monitor cost progress and performance metrics to establish potential and pending trends
• Evaluate and recommends allowances for design unknowns, escalation, and contingency
• Review monthly reporting packages and provides recommendations for improvement and projections based off performance
• Update PowerBi dashboard and prepare portfolio scorecards
• Ensure all Administrative, Financial, and System close-out activities are complete
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
• Post-Secondary Degree in a related field
• 6 years’ experience in project controls
