Job description
UAP’s Strategy & Growth team is a collaborative, high-performing and inclusive group responsible for maximizing value through optimization, growth, and transformation, empowering the organization to think innovatively and differently through trusted strategic advisory and partnership. This team’s scope is for all Canadian banners, including NAPA Auto Parts, CMAX, Altrom/Auto-Camping, Traction, TW, and Cadel.
Reporting to the Manager, Market Growth & Strategy, you will support gathering, analyzing, and maintaining market and geospatial knowledge to drive insights of the Canadian market, industry, customers, economy, and competition. This position will also actively participate in supporting UAP’s strategy development and planning by identifying opportunities and trends, building white papers, business cases and presentations, and providing actionable recommendations based on internal and external assessments.
Job Description
In this role you will be responsible to:
- Gather, analyze, and maintain market and geospatial databases and effectively communicate key findings in a clear, compelling, and concise manner; update UAP’s ongoing market database based on new market data and insights.
- Conduct competitive research to update and maintain knowledge about main competitors; track and analyze new competitor brand entrants and product launches, and trends and dynamics of industry/customer/economy.
- Facilitate market analysis/data internal requests across regions, providing assessments on market opportunities and insights that will guide market growth actions.
- Support UAP’s corporate strategic and business planning processes through development of insights from market intelligence and strategic opportunities, and materials to support the Strategic Planning Committee meetings.
- Support strategy development for UAP priorities by developing analyses, white papers, business cases and presentations that will build the story on the assessed opportunity/gaps, strategic options, and recommended plan/action to address the opportunity.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, Economics, Business Intelligence, Statistics or a similar field.
- 3+ years of experience in Market or Competitive Analytics, Data Analytics, Strategy, Business Intelligence, or a position with similar responsibilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint; intermediate to advanced knowledge.
- Knowledge of geospatial and business intelligence software an asset (Alteryx, Cognos, Power BI, MapInfo, ArcGIS, SQL).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively to accomplish tasks.
- Ability to communicate in both English and French, written and spoken, as you will be working and presenting with colleagues across Canada.
