Job description
The Site Medical Lead – Campbell River Primary Care Centre (“Site Medical Lead”) will work in partnership with the Primary Care Manager and supported by the implementation team including Campbell River & District Division of Family Practice, to ensure continuity of urgent primary care in the Campbell River& District. With the Primary Care Manager co-lead, the Site Medical Lead will work pro-actively to establish team-based care and collaboration amongst Primary Care Providers (PCPs) and staff to support quality and continuous improvement of services including:
1. Engage with PCPs to support provision of urgent and primary care services at the site, including:
a. Recruitment activities of PCPs including responding to inquiries, and leading search/ selection processes.
b. High level of support for onboarding of PCPs
c. Oversee scheduling and invoicing/billing processes
d. Establish principles and processes to advance team based and integrated care amongst PCPs.
2. Develop an attachment protocol, when appropriate, and participation in evaluation processes.
3. Provide clinical leadership to support implementation and optimization of clinic EMR.
4. With Site Manager, responsible for establishing administrative procedure to ensure appropriate standards of medical care.
5. Responsible for compliance with the professional standards of the BC College of Physicians and Surgeons and the BC College of Nurses and Midwives with regards to clinic operations (as opposed to individual practitioner professional standards). Support continuity across PCP team and patient safety with results management.
6. Support implementation of site Quality Committees linked to the Primary Care Quality Council.
