With a pending retirement, the School now seeks a new Director of Human Resources. Reporting to the Head of School, the Director will help advance the School’s mission and operations through human resource leadership, innovation, and service excellence. An opportunity exists to develop a future-ready staff culture rooted in excellence, leveraging the recently launched Ready and Relevant Strategic Plan. The new Director will be the very centre of meaningful, strategic work in crafting and developing talent into a forward-thinking and engaged team. Building on an existing HR plan, whose central tenet focuses on ‘building employee engagement…one employee at a time’. Overseeing a small unit, the Director wholly develops and owns the human resource strategic plan and provides leadership and vision for all areas of human resources including recruitment, retention, policy, compensation, benefits, professional development, succession planning and employee relations. The ideal candidate brings a proven track record as a Human Resources generalist with a depth of senior level HR experience gained in the private, public or education sector. Expertise in HR 'best practices' and innovative program development is essential, along with excellent interpersonal skills, discretion, and the ability to create a positive work environment. Demonstrated abilities in organizational development, recruitment, employee relations, and performance management are important assets. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills and high emotional intelligence, rooted in integrity and respect. A CPHR designation or related education strongly preferred. The Director will play a critical role in continuing to shape the human capital landscape of St. George's School to develop strategies that support an engaged working environment and promote a culture that values employees and fosters best practices in human resources.
