Your opportunity
As a Senior Software Product Developer and part of Dillon’s IT Solutions team, you will play a pivotal role in driving project success through effective communication, technical expertise, and mentorship . Focusing on delivering high-quality solutions, your role will encompass dynamic aspects of software development, strategic planning, and effective communication while also providing valuable insights and recommendations to drive strategic decision-making and optimize business processes.

Technical Analysis
- Manage, analyze and prioritize incoming business requests, projects, and issues to determine appropriate solution
- Assess third party software assets where appropriate
- Document and communicate the solution vision, aligning it with business goals and needs
- Review and deconstruct solution into software development work packages
Software Development
- Review and estimate individual software development work packages
- Write, review and optimize code to implement project requirements based on architectural, coding and quality standards.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure code integration and consistency across the system.
- Provide technical mentorship and support to the members of the team
Project Management
- Develop and maintain a plan for solution development and implementation
- Assume ownership of the overall implementation process, ensure that tasks are completed according to project plan, deadlines are met and project risks are identified and mitigated in a timely manner.
- Manage multiple projects and operational tasks in parallel
Learning and Development
- Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development
- Contribute to the career development of supporting staff, including technical direction, coaching, and mentoring
- Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees
- University degree or diploma in Computer Science or a related field that reflects a strong foundation in software engineering
- 6-8 years of experience in software development, marked by demonstrable progression in work complexity and technical proficiency
- Demonstrated expertise (be prepared to discuss concrete examples of your work) in SDLC/Agile methodologies, spanning analysis, design, configuration, prototyping, testing, and deployment for both cloud and on-premise applications
- Practical experience in systems integration development, testing, documentation and test automation
- Demonstrated aptitude in data analytics using tools such as Qlik, PowerBI, Excel PowerQuery, and Cognos, with a strong background in data warehouses and other data management governance and analytics solutions
- Knowledge in cloud computing services, particularly Microsoft Azure, expertise in .NET methodologies and an overall strong grasp of Microsoft technology stack
- Strong communication skills are essential in this role, encompassing clear articulation of ideas, active listening, and understanding diverse viewpoints
- Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance, encompassing industry best practices and methodologies
