Job description
Our client, a logistics & supply chain management company located in Richmond Hill, is looking to add an Operations Coordinator to their team! Recent graduates are welcomed to apply! This position is 100% onsite.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: - Compare booking information with both incoming and outgoing documents, and detect any potential errors
- Prepare the relevant paper and digital documentation for shipping purposes
- Create invoices, packing lists and other documentation for international customs
- Inspect and check incoming and outgoing documentation for accuracy
- Analyze freight rates, calculate cost of goods, and research shipping routes
- Determine and recommend efficient and cost-effective logistics solutions
- Communicate with freight forwarders and suppliers via e-mail and phone calls
- Maintain relevant files and databases using MS Office and Google Drive apps
- Effectively monitor and track the flow of goods during the shipping process
- Prepare periodical reports for management to evaluate the overall shipping process
- Answer phone calls, emails, and provide general administrative support
- Other office duties as assigned by management
Job Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in supply chain management or related field
- 1-2 years experience in supply chain preferred
- Strong ability to communicate professionally and effectively with others
- Strong computer and technical skills
- High attention to detail
- Ability to learn quickly through observation and hands-on learning
