JOB OVERVIEW
The Project Coordinator ensures Foremen have the equipment, materials, and resources (including personnel to execute customer projects). The Project Coordinator will ensure on-time and on-budget project completion, and overall customer satisfaction. It is crucial that our Project Coordinators promote a positive company image through safety, quality, consistency, and professionalism.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
§ Ensure all work is completed on budget, on time, and in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards
§ Work directly with Project Management, Field Crew, H&S, and Customers on the seamless execution of landed projects
§ Work in a safe manner & adhere to all safety policies & procedures
§ Participate in weekly production meetings
§ Adhere to all Project Management policies and procedures
§ Work with Field Services scheduler to request personnel for execution of Customer projects
§ For each assigned project site, manage day-to-day activities to ensure projects stay on schedule and on budget including:
o In coordination with Project Managers (if applicable) ensure Field crews have all the equipment, materials, and appropriately-skilled personnel to complete the project
o Participate in Customer site meetings as requested
o Verify completion of proper H&S requirements and documentation under applicable Health and Safety legislation
o Act as the point of contact between Customer and Foreman on project sites
o Ensure project meets Company and Customer quality standards
o Ensure project sites are left clean and organized
o Verify completion of site documentation (e.g. SAT SiteDocs form)
o Identify and communicate project scope changes to Project Manager
§ Identify bill of materials for install requirements
§ Work closely with Purchasing to ensure correct materials are available to meet project timelines
§ Gather all necessary project information and costs for the purposes of compiling and writing up change orders and out of scope work (extras)
§ Provide mentorship, coaching and training to Foreman and Lead Hands as needed
§ Always conduct oneself in a professional manner in alignment with Company values, including but not limited to language use, attire, and workmanship
§ In accordance with Company policy and relevant employment legislation, overtime and work outside of regular hours, and being on call may be required at the discretion of the company
§ All other duties as required
Requirements
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
§ Relevant trade certification
§ Relevant industry work experience
§ Experience leading a crew
§ First Aid trained
§ Demonstrated Project Management experience
§ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
§ Strong organizational, time and budget management skills
§ Demonstrated ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
§ Working knowledge of Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office and AutoCAD True View
§ Familiarity with ERP systems with preference for experience working with Microsoft NAV Dynamics
§ Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
§ Licensed Journeyperson or post-secondary education with a background in mechanical design/installation or
§ Knowledge of the electrical industry and electrical design principles an asset
§ Willing and able to travel to customer locations as needed
