Job Summary
You will work as an active member of the nursing team to provide a high standard of care to patients of the Labrador Grenfell zone. The Registered Nurses coordinate and participate in the delivery of holistic and supportive care to patients/clients/residents by assessing, developing, implementing and evaluating the plan of care. This may include the provision of emergency, health promotion, curative, supportive, rehabilitative and palliative services. They ensure that documentation and nursing policies and practices are followed, and they work together with families to ensure the highest standard of patient/resident/client centered care is provided. Registered Nurses (RN) is responsible for maintaining professional and organizational standards and practice in accordance with the LG Model of Nursing Clinical Practice and reports to the Manager of Patient Services.

Qualifications:

" Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with a Nursing Diploma or an approved University with a Bachelor of Nursing;
" Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL);
" Breastfeeding education/course;
" NRP, ACLS and TNCC and Medivac courses are considered an asset;
" Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR);
" The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct and vulnerable sector check;

Duties: (Included but not limited to)

" Organizing, planning, implementing and evaluating the plan of care for assigned clients including but not limited to: medical-surgical, obstetrics (pre-natal, labour and delivery, post-partum), long term care, special care, mental health/addictions and pediatrics;
" Participates in the auditing process as required;
" Documents as per professional and organizational standards;
" Administers medication and participates in Medication Reconciliation;
" Participates in the orientation, mentorship and perceptoring of staff;
" Represents nursing on various committees as required;
" Participates in quality assurance initiatives as requested/required;
" Practices independently according to professional and organizational standards;
" Acts as a liaison between the client and other healthcare providers;
" Other related duties as required.

Salary:

" RNUNL Salary Scales dependent on position and location, plus applicable Labrador Allowance.
