Job description

Position Title: P&D Manager Job Summary To supervise, coordinate and control pick-up and delivery operations within the service area of the station to achieve maximum service and profit objectives. To supervise, coordinate and control warehouse and station operations and administrative duties to achieve maximum service and profit objectives. Implements and sustains best people practices to ensure a highly engaged workplace. Essential Functions People Selects, trains, develops, disciplines and motivates hourly personnel. Provides station personnel with information regarding benefits, uniforms, wage and salary policies, personnel and operating policies/procedures, etc. Manages, inspires and motivates OPS staff to ensure operational excellence, high employee engagement and service improvements through LPSP. Audits Performs an overall audit function on packages in-house and on the vehicles; as well as audits on all other station processes. Participates in monthly CCSM station audit (where applicable participates in CCSM FAO quarterly self-audit). Compliance Ensures compliance regarding corporate Personnel, Policies and Procedures using CCSM Audit as a measurement tool. Supports corporate goals and objectives, including the People First Philosophy, Employment Equity and Quality. Ensures compliance with training requirements. Safety Promotes Safe work activities by conducting safety audits, accident and injury prevention and reporting, and coaching with individual employees. Works with safety team to establish proactive safety measures. Conducts investigation to determine causes of vehicle accident and employee injuries and to improve safety procedures. Uses online injury and accidently reporting sites accordingly. Supports safety by submitting information for safety dashboard and Safety Governance Board. Coordinates operations of the station to provide maximum service through Best Practices (BP) methods. Ensures goals are accurate, employees follow process and hit rates using BP methods. Budgets Assists in the administration of an annual operating budget in line with corporate policies and process. Monitors overtime, salaries and wages, supplies, vehicle rentals, fuel (eco-driving). Security Provides proper security for FedEx, FedEx employees and customer properties (or packages). Ensures compliance with building security – FedEx employees only on site, visitors signed in with escort, etc. Vendors are assigned for preventative maintenance. Supervises and coordinates all Ground Operations relating to the operational interface between aircraft and the station. Coordinates between ramp, CTV and stations to ensure trucks leave on time and arrives safely with appropriate freight to the appropriate location. Delays/issues are communicated with contingency plans and acted upon. Monitors service delayes and disruptions-updates systems accordingly. Facility Inspection Inspects facilities, vehicles, tools and equipment to ensure a good company image and safe working environment. Amount of time required to learn or adjust to the job Eighteen (18) months Minimum Education Bachelors Degree or Equivalent: • BA or equivalent Minimum Experience Minimum number of years required for entry to this job – 4 years Four (4) years FedEx or industry experience Required Skills, Abilities and / or Licensure Accreditation/certifications/Licenses: Excel endorsed Must possess valid driver’s license and a good driving record Computer/Technical Skills FAMIS/FWR (multiple screens) EOPS/COSMOS (multiple screens) Archer Workday OCE BPM OLPR Microsoft Outlook - Basic Microsoft Excel - Basic Microsoft Word - Basic Microsoft Power Point - Basic Leadership Skill Competencies Interpersonal Skill Requirements Addresses and resolves conflict management Builds bridges and collaborates cross-organizationally Communicates effectively Delivers on commitments Enables and mobilizes staff to stay focused and enthusiastic about tasks Is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal clients and external customers Keeps abreast of FedEx and general business strategic direction Seeks to simplify business processes while ensuring quality Takes accountability for department failure and acts quickly to find a suitable solution Time Management Uses best judgment in making decisions Special notes The incumbent of this position is expected to perform all other duties as assigned; must be able to complete and achieve minimum thresholds on any mandatory testing and training; must be able to operate in a PC windows environment; have the ability to successfully complete all recurrence training and maintain annual accreditations where applicable; and work varying shifts based on business needs.
