Job description
The Program Manager will be responsible for managing a group of interconnected, cross-functional projects to achieve our client’s long-term P&C Digital Transformation goals. This role will partner with and lead project managers in our client’s Digital Portfolio within P&C. This includes managing current initiatives as well as defining the vision for their program execution. This is a key leadership role that will work closely within P&C as well as with cross-functional business partners, vendors, and technology.
Remote working conditions and open to candidates across Canada. This is a 6-9-month contract.

This role requires excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to identify and eliminate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate, and make tradeoffs, and balance business needs against technical constraints. Maturity, curiosity, creative problem solving, mentorship, and team leadership are all essential to success in this role.
- Lead large, cross-functional initiatives from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
- Communicate program updates, risks, and milestones effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
- Collaborate with initiative sponsors, business stakeholders, and technology partners to define strategies and objectives.
- Develop and implement evaluation methods to maximize program performance and ROI.
- Manage program budgets and constraints, monitoring Opex and Capex expenditures as needed.
- Provide expert guidance and advice to P&C Centers of Excellence, Project Sponsors, and Key Stakeholders on program/project issues and opportunities.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of our client’s services, platforms, and business strategy to drive change and influence project decisions.
- Identify and mitigate risks, resolve issues, and ensure resources are effectively managed to achieve program goals.
- Support Project Managers in addressing critical issues and engaging stakeholders.
- Coach and evaluate Project Managers to foster team development and uphold project delivery best practices.
- Set clear expectations, hold team members accountable, and manage resources across projects.
- Oversee external vendors and ensure accountability.
Who - the Candidate: - 8+ years of related work experience, with direct work experience across a variety of HR disciplines to support a strong foundational knowledge of HR best practices and regulatory processes
- 8+ years of relevant program management experience; with at least 5+ years directly managing projects
- Degree in HR, Business, Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience
- Project and/or Program designations (PMP, PgMP, …)
- Proven experience managing a team of varying skill and technical expertise levels
- Deep understanding of project management principles, tools, and techniques – including business case development, ROI analysis, planning and risk management
- Deep understanding of waterfall and agile practices, particularly Scrum
- Excellent knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles
- Experience working with various digital human resources system architectures (preference for those with specifically Workday, Avature, and Dayforce WFM)
- Provide guidance and mentorship for project managers within the program
- Experience in managing programs in highly dynamic, global organizations; preference for those experienced in retail or similar industries with blended and distributed workforce (i.e. mix of salary and contingent workers)
- Demonstrated experience translating business strategy into roadmaps
- Takes ownership and follows through on tasks; drives decisions; results-oriented
- Flexible and able to handle multiple priorities
- Creative and curious strategic thinker
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills

How Much:
