Located out of our Calgary office, the individual in this position will report to the Supervisor, Regulatory and Environment within the Transportation Business Unit (TBU). The Analyst will assist in the preparation and submission of applications and evaluate current and planned operations against legal and regulatory requirements, identify current or potential compliance conflicts and coordinate efforts to fix non-compliance situations in a resourceful and efficient manner. In addition to Project support for our asset (new, integrity, operations, etc.) throughout their life cycle.


Key Activities and Responsibilities


REGULATORY SUPPORT
Responsible for review and preparation of pipeline applications and compliance documentation to applicable Regulator (AB and SK)
Liaise with government and regulatory officials and represent the company with industry members and industry association committees.
Stay abreast of current and proposed laws and regulations.
Provide guidance and support to project teams for new developments, pipeline integrity, operational activities, and business developments.


APPLICATIONS
Coordinate the preparation of applications to regulatory agencies for new projects and for modifications to existing Transportation Business Unit assets.
Provide regulatory input to project teams at the planning stage to identify and assist in the management of technical and non-technical risks that could come up during the regulatory approval process, including advise on expected realistic regulatory approval timelines that should be incorporated into the overall development and execution objectives of the projects.
Manage consultants for work in support of regulatory applications, during construction of new projects, post construction work, if required.
Provide regulatory expertise during unplanned events or incidents and report to the appropriate regulatory agencies.


REGULATORY COMPLIANCE
Responsible for review and submission of all internal and external reports to regulatory agencies in order to meet the stipulated regulatory reporting requirements of various permits and approvals.
Coordination and collaboration with Field Operations and other internal departments to ensure timely completion of pipeline and associated station compliance and reporting obligations.
