Reporting to the Director of Resource Management, the Fisheries Section head is a key leadership position, providing mentoring, coaching, and professional oversight for the regional Fisheries program. The person will set expectations and hold staff accountable for achievement of program and project outcomes that are focused on the management planning, and assessment, regulation and conservation of fish and ecosystem resources. The position oversees the application of legislation, policies and professional standards in program delivery and may lead and/or participate in the delivery of collaborative initiatives across the region and at a provincial level.

The Section Head has financial oversight and responsibilities for both base and project budgets and will have statutory decision-making authority under the Wildlife Act.

In collaboration with the Resource Management Leadership Team (RMLT), the Section Head will set the strategic direction for TOR’s resource management team and provide direction on meeting organizational goals.
