The Health Informatics – Clinical Ancillary Services portfolio has an 18-month temporary Portfolio Manager, Health Informatics positionavailable to support our Surgical, Anesthesia, and Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR)areas within Fraser Health.
As a key member of the leadership team, you will lead a busy portfolio with multiple enterprise level applications used within the surgical and MDR departments across 12 acute care hospitals. Within this portfolio you will be play a key role in innovative initiatives in partnership with clinicians, digital patient and provider experience teams as well as with vendors.

Be part of a collaborative, dynamic team as you:
- Oversee the implementation and uptake of specialized electronic clinical solutions used by Surgical, Anesthesia, and Medical Device Reprocessing clinical areas within Fraser Health.
- Develop, lead and mentor a team of staff that are responsible for a variety of activities, including: supporting the deployment of clinical applications and IT infrastructure projects, providing operational support for systems, developing training materials, and conducting training to end users.
- Act as a liaison with clinical leadership within the assigned portfolio to support the clinical area’s technical needs, while adhering to best practices in information technology and change management.
- Utilize your demonstrated knowledge of health informatics, business processes, technologies and applications.
- Translate clinical and business needs into application requirements based on a thorough knowledge of all components of project management processes and the systems development life cycle.
- Create strategies to improve operational support and sustainment of enterprise systems within the portfolio.
- Oversee procurement projects and manage contracts and relationships with vendors for enterprise systems.
- Foster a supportive environment through engagement, innovation, individual and team achievements.
Are you motivated to join our team? We will be looking for you to have the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Health Information Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business or related field.
- Seven (7) years of related experience in a large complex organization including at least three (3) years' experience as a Project Manager.
- Including two (2) years providing leadership to a variety of large project teams
An asset to this role would be:
- Experience with health and corporate information systems
- Experience with financial management for projects
- Experience supporting and implementing health information systems that are specialized to improve clinical workflows and clinical documentation
- Experience with or a strong understanding of medical device integration with clinical systems
- Experience with or a strong understanding of HL7 integration between clinical systems and Meditech

- Knowledge of all components of a technical architecture and health and corporate information systems.
- Ability to translate business needs into application architecture requirements.
- Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the project management process and the systems development life cycle.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
This is a temporary Full Timepositions to cover for a maternity leave, based at our Central City Offices in Surrey, B.C.
