Job description

The Alberta Securities Commission is the industry-funded regulator responsible for administering the province's securities laws. It is entrusted with fostering a fair and efficient capital market in Alberta and with protecting investors. As a member of the Canadian Securities Administrators, the ASC works to improve, coordinate and harmonize the regulation of Canada's capital markets.

 

The Information Technology (IT) team is responsible for making sure that the ASC has the appropriate resources necessary to ensure the consistent, reliable and secure delivery of services, and understanding and anticipating the organization’s unique technology requirements.

Reporting to the Manager, Data Management, the Enterprise Data Architect will play a key role in shaping and executing data strategy, ensuring that our data infrastructure is robust, scalable and aligned with our strategic objectives. To support the IT strategy and deliver ever-increasing business value and service, the Data Management business unit is being formed. This newly created position will be responsible for managing our data architecture, data models and technologies to be used in collecting, organizing, storing and accessing data. The successful candidate will also proactively identify emerging opportunities and issues and make recommendations to deliver effective, efficient and innovative functional solutions tailored to the unique needs of the ASC.
