Job description
Our client is looking to grow and are hiring a Commercial Insurance Team Lead . The Commercial Insurance Team Leader is accountable for leading and managing the team in day-to-day operations. You will oversee the effective operation of the unit by coordinating and enhancing workflow and operational procedures, as well as coaching and mentoring the team. You will also perform account management duties looking after a portion of our commercial book of business, leading by example a level of excellent customer service.

Duties to include but not limited to:
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring and supervision for all direct reports
- Works with direct reports to set goals and objectives that are meaningful, attainable and align with the overall company strategic plan for customer service, business development and retention; Tracks performance metrics and provides regular feedback and guidance to the team
- Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations in the department; Develop, implement, monitor and improve workflows which promote exceptional customer service, increase customer satisfaction and increase efficiencies and achieves consistency
- Assist, manage, and review the assigned work of direct reports; Time and process management of work assigned ensuring that work, reports and projects are completed on time and accurately
- The “Go To” person for Commercial Insurance Division
- Act as lead for Insurance Company audits for Commercial Insurance business
- Engage in project management duties as assigned for strategic development initiatives
- Identify and participate in process improvement initiatives
- Develops, builds and maintains a trusted advisor relationship with customers by providing exceptional customer service exceeding their expectations
- Provide consistent, accurate, timely and pertinent communication to customers through “constant touch points” as well as ensure timely and successful delivery of solutions to escalated customer service issues ; proactively respond to customer inquiries/issues within established timelines promoting customer appreciation and retention
- Acts as customer advocate with insurance companies to negotiate with underwriters, discuss renewal of terms, follow up with adjusters on claims status and/or any other matter of concern on behalf of the customer
Requirements:
- 5 years+ experience in the insurance industry, specifically in Commercial Insurance (P&C); Solid understanding of property/casualty insurance principals, underwriting, coverage & rate analysis with a strong focus on Commercial insurance
- RIBO Licensed and in good standing
- Post- secondary University or College level education in business, administration and/ or management
- Completion of CIP, or in progress an asset.
- Proven leadership abilities – coach, mentor and develop a team with various skill sets and levels
- Ability to produce results while working collaboratively with direct reports and colleagues
- Proven ability to create, develop, implement and lead strategic improvement initiatives related to quality and delivery of service levels
- Proven strong decision making and problem solving ability in order to effectively use processes to make decisions, anticipate, analyze and diagnose problems and diffuse conflicts or disagreements tactfully and respectfully
- Excellent organizational, time management and project management skills; Able to coordinate multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Customer Service Focus ( minimum 5 years previous experience in a customer service role)
- Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills with the ability to communicate complex information with confidence in a clear and concise manner
- Experience and expertise in data management using a Broker Management System, SigXP preferred
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy; Work requires little or no checking
- Proficient in MS Office primarily Outlook, Word and Excel
- Able to develop and read reports
