Our client in the insulation manufacturing industry is seeking a permanent, full-time on-site Health & Safety Manager to join their team. This exciting opportunity is based in the great community of Grand Forks, B.C. The ideal candidate will have a safety-first mindset, great communication skills, and be highly motivated to promote best practices which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Health and Safety Manager
Location: Grand Forks, B.C.
Pay Range: $95k to $105k per year
What’s the Job?- Ensure adherence to regulations on health and safety in the workplace as well as ensuring that the facility remains in full compliance with all provincial and federal regulations as well as company Health & Safety standards.
- Establish and implement a Health & Safety management system including implementation and conformance to Group standards and guidelines.
- Active management of all work-related claims including modified work programs and return to work program and planning.
- Perform safety audits, inspections, and evaluations to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure that plant operations remain in compliance with new laws and regulations through continuing education, networking, and newsletters issued by the industry or other relevant organizations.
- Responsible for managing the Incident Investigation process in conjunction with plant Operations. Implement and follow up on all corrective and preventative measures.
- Weekly reporting of Health and Safety Key Performance Figures (KPI’s).
- Co-Chair the site Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) Coordination with Group functions and North America peers.

What’s Needed?- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
- 5 or more years of professional experience in the Health and Safety field in a manufacturing setting
- Robust understanding of Federal, Provincial, and local regulations associated with Health and Safety
- Good organizational and analytical skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated problem-solving and trouble shooting skills
- Demonstrated skills in effective communication and data accuracy and integrity
- Stakeholder management for local community, neighbours, and organizations
