Job description
The Role:
We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Engineered Wood Product Designer (EWP) to contribute to the development and design of our innovative wood products.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with wood materials, a strong background in engineering, and a keen eye for design aesthetics. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and prototyping engineered wood products that meet our clients' specifications and industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Utilize CAD software to create detailed design drawings and specifications for engineered wood products.
- Conduct research on emerging trends, materials, and technologies to enhance product design and functionality.
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure that designs are feasible and can be produced efficiently.
- Generate prototypes and participate in product testing and validation processes.
- Provide technical support to internal teams and clients, addressing inquiries and resolving design-related issues.
- Stay abreast of industry regulations and standards to ensure compliance in all product designs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Wood ,Science, or related field.
- Proven 2-5 year experience in product design, preferably in the wood products industry.
- Proficient in MiTek software
- Strong understanding of wood materials, manufacturing processes, and industry trends.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Detail-oriented with a strong ability to problem-solve.
- A passion for sustainability and environmentally conscious design practices.
