About our Opportunity


The Coordinator, Finance and Administration is responsible for the overall accounting, financial reporting, and administrative support at the Nova Scotia Provincial Library. 


 
This position is responsible for the coordination and monitoring of the unit's budget (including budget development, analysis, troubleshooting and tracking). The Coordinator ensures the financial effectiveness of the unit in the following areas: administration of grants to regional public library boards and external stakeholders and analysis of annual financial reporting from regional library boards, oversight of costs of province-wide library initiatives, participation in strategic province-wide library projects, including funding review studies and service reviews for regional public libraries, and interpretation of Regulations under the Libraries Act pertaining to funding of regional library boards. This position also provides overall coordination and monitoring of financial management, forecasting, budgeting, accounts payable and receivable, and procurement.

 

The Coordinator is also responsible for the effective and efficient organization and management of office procedures and support to the Director, and other staff as required. This position is directly responsible for utilizing and maintaining accurate records management processes within the unit.

 

About You

Qualifications and Experience


You have five (5) years related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be acceptable. Post-secondary education in business or finance considered an asset.


The following would also be considered assets:


A sound working knowledge of SAP; the ability to verify and process financial information, following GAAP; solid understanding of STAR/STOR records management system; excellent computer skills, with a particular emphasis on Microsoft Office suite and the internet; knowledge of Ariba and Flextrack, budgeting and forecasting; a working knowledge of government policies and procedures, and management policies are considered assets; the ability to speak French

Pay Grade: CL 22  

Salary Range:  $1,924.59 - $2,128.70 Bi-Weekly
