Copcan Civil, part of NorLand Limited, is an award-winning civil construction company, operating from offices in Nanaimo, Victoria, Kelowna and Rossland. The company has been in business since 1970 and has successfully completed projects throughout Vancouver Island and the BC Interior, including highways and bridge construction, underground utilities, demolitions, marine infrastructure projects, private development, and various municipal works.

We are in search of Labourers to join the Copcan Civil team in Victoria, the Kootenays and the Okanagan regions. The successful candidates will be responsible for working with a team of other Labourers supporting various projects.

You will be accountable for:

• Performing tasks involving physical labour such as loading & unloading building materials and equipment as needed
• Preparing the site to eliminate potential hazards
• Maintaining the cleanliness of the site to ensure it is clear of water and scrap material
• Provide daily labour support as directed by the on-site team
• Assisting in erecting and dismantling temporary structures as needed
• Ability to follow instructions and operating as a productive member of a high functioning team
• Work independently, as well as part of a team
• Be punctual and have excellent attendance

Candidate Qualifications:

• Safety knowledge and experience in construction industry
• Experience with basic power and construction tools
• Nice to have a valid BC driver’s license, but not a requirement
• First aid is considered an asset
• Fit to work – ability to see, hear, walk, stand, and lift up to 50lbs
• Have a positive attitude and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to communicate effectively in English

Expected Wage Range: $19.00 – $34.00 per hour
