The opportunity

We are looking for a Government Security Clearance Administrator (internal rank of Associate) who provides administrative support for the Federal security clearance process. This role will report into a Senior Alternate Company Security Officer (ACSO) and will be supporting processing a high volume of security clearances, monitoring progress of new, expiring and terminated clearances. This role requires internal and external facing relationships and will have significant interaction with new joiners, employees, Partners, and other HR clients.

Your key responsibilities

• Administration of the Federal security clearance process, including the processing of a high volume of security clearances, monitoring progress of new, expiring and terminated clearances, ensuring a current list of employees is maintained daily.
• Ensuring compliance, access management and reporting standards are met in adherence to EY and Federal Government Security requirements.
• Raise concerns/issues to CSO as required.
• Follow appropriate protection of personal information ensuring that personnel security screening files are properly safeguarded.
• Identify process improvements opportunities.
• Oversight and management of the Secure room at the Ottawa office building.
• Where necessary, arranges Resolution of Doubt interviews with/for employees.
• Ensure that employees receive a security briefing upon notification of having been granted a security clearance.

• Demonstrated initiative and ability to seek out answers to questions and problems.
• Extremely trustworthy and capable of handling highly sensitive and confidential information.
• Ability to learn new applications and techniques quickly and effectively.

To qualify for the role you must have

• 1-3 years experience in an administrative role handling large volumes of data.
• Strong understanding of privacy protections and access to secure information best practices.
• Strong PC proficiency including MS word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Reliability Level Security Clearance.
• Ability to obtain Canadian Secret Level Security Clearance.
• Ability to come to the office as need (minimum 1 day a week) to support with the Facility Security requirements.

Ideally you will also have:

• Secret level Security Clearance is a strong asset.
• Bilingual (French/English), both spoken and written is an asset but not a requirement.
• ACSO experience is an asset.
• Designated Official (DO) under the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) is an asset.
