ROLE SUMMARY
- Serve as a key leader within the finance function and support the operations team.
- Support decision-making to achieve the company’s business and financial objectives.
- Responsible for advising and supporting multiple units with financial management and analysis.
- Performs a variety of complex tasks, including collecting and analyzing financial data.
- Build relationships with controllers from other subsidiaries.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Standardize and optimize various accounting and financial practices, systems, and procedures across different sites, as well as internal control mechanisms to improve department efficiency, service quality, and better meet the company’s business needs.
- Responsible for financial accounting, cash flow management, financing, accounting, credit, costing, and participates in due diligence reviews for acquisitions and various business projects.
- Supervise a team of employees located at different sites responsible for budget preparation, financial statements, monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, government grants or credits (such as R&D).
- Resource person for accounting principles, monitors production investment projects, capital expenditures, and coordinates external audits.
- Optimize means and measures associated with KPIs and costing, in collaboration with the VP Operations to better align with business objectives.
- Responsible for financial deliverables for respective business areas: financial planning, data analysis and sharing, reports to the management committee, budgets, forecasts, operational plan, etc.
- Meet the necessary financing deliverables and deadlines for the company.
- Develop and maintain financial models to track and forecast financial trajectory compared to budget and previous year.
- Develop and distribute financial reports as requested by the President / Vice President Operations of the company.
- Maintain business relationships with banking institutions.
- Manage and coordinate legal matters.
- Manage and coordinate the liability/commercial insurance aspect for the Group of operating companies.
- Monitor commercial leases.
- Collaborate in the management of the IT department for the Canadian division including cybersecurity.
KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, and CPA designation;
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in finance and excellent business acumen;
- High responsibility, with the ability to independently lead and coordinate complex projects in multiple areas;
- Fluent in spoken and written French, English;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to summarize complex financial information to provide visibility and recommendations to senior management for decision-making.
