As a Fleet Senior, you will assist the management team in their daily tasks. You will support your colleagues in the delivery department as well as the drivers and driver's assistants at our Montreal distribution center. You will report directly to the fleet supervisors.
This position requires excellent leadership skills and time management. You must ensure that you maintain a positive and productive work environment with high service standards. You must be able to work under pressure and have the ability to adapt to different situations.
You will be working in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing demands. You will need to be able to react and make decisions based on the interests of the customer and the company.
- Ensure maximum utilization of all regional road assets (vehicles and equipment) and fleet personnel.
- Ensure consistency of compliance with a high standard in vehicle driving behaviors as well as all occupational health and safety standards
- Assist with fleet and delivery service planning, including daily operations, to maximize resources and utilization of vehicle equipment
- Perform daily planning, routing and load planning functions to maximize delivery capacity and productivity of available resources Advise management of areas where efficiencies can be improved and take initiative by taking appropriate action
- Actively participate in property and product damage control processes and initiatives
- Administer investigations of workplace injuries, vehicle accidents, property/product damage, and loading and delivery reports
- Conduct loading and driver registration processes on a consistent basis
- Run routes on a daily basis while adhering to cubing and route values
- Minimum of 2 years experience in operations, preferably transportation or logistics, environment in a management or supervisory role
- Experience with computerized routing systems is an asset
- Effective bi-lingual communication skills, both written and verbal, in French and English
- Ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced retail environment
- Ability to work collaboratively with other departments to better serve customers
- Knowledge of delivery service procedures, warehouse management systems and/or Brick operations management an asset
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
- Ability to work a rotating and flexible schedule, including some weekends and early mornings
