Expected Salary: $81,738 to $118,065

In this role, you will:
- Be responsible for the Health and Safety of all direct reports.
- Directly support the Head of Waterfront Engineering Department in the authorization and evaluation of verification requirements, including technical data and quality assurance, in a shipyard environment.
- Assume the role and responsibilities of JTG Chair during absences and vacations.
- Provide leadership and oversight of a multi-discipline team of engineers and technologists tasked to execute authorization and evaluation of verification requirements of complex systems.
- Be responsive to Program and Project Managers for dynamic program delivery requirements across multiple departments.
- Identify risk treatments and opportunities for the improvement for Waterfront Engineering Department operations.
- Establish metrics and key indicators to monitor and control Joint Test Group operations.
- Lead technical reviews as warranted and directed.
The ideal candidate brings:
- Graduated from a recognized institution with post-secondary education or completed an apprenticeship in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
- Provincial certification as a P.Eng or AScT.
- 10+ years of relevant experience including:
- Extensive experience (5+ years) in a high-integrity engineering environment.
- Proven leadership skills and experience (5+ years) managing technical teams is highly desirable.
- Significant experience (5+ years) in submarine engineering, sustainment, or construction.
- Significant experience (5+ years) reviewing technical documents.
- Experience (3+ years) in reactivation of ship or submarine following refit/significant work periods.
- Experience (5+ years) with naval combat systems and communications an asset.
- Submarine-specific operational experience or equivalent qualifications in a senior capacity an asset.
- Working knowledge of ITAR and security protocols.
- You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance.
