JOB PURPOSE:
This role will be responsible for both internal and external communications strategies for Conestoga Meats. Working on social media initiatives this role will be a champion for and build our company brand and online presence. Internally this role will provide recommendations on communications methods, software, and best practices for employee communications. This role will also be tasked with communications projects like employee app communications, translation app options, and creating an employee ambassador program for social media.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS / ROLES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
External
- Be a leader in our social media brand strategy for the company
- Develop and support employee brand ambassador initiatives to help grow the company brand presence online globally
- Update and maintain review pages on Indeed and Glassdoor including monitoring and responding to all reviews made by past employees to show engagement
- Be an active voice on social media from the company platforms engaging with followers and from personal business accounts
- Collaborate with our Employee Relations team on employee events and social media opportunities
- Work with Talent team on campus recruitment, community events, and advertising roles for social media opportunities
- Work with Talent &OD Manager on establishing EVP strategy for social media content
- Create all social media posts ensuring adherence to brand guidelines, grammar, and visual appeal
- Lead social media campaigns for series of posts (ex. farmer owned campaign, pork nutrition)
- Create and implement 12 month calendar of posts for 4 platforms and execute, monitoring post deadlines and following sign off procedures
- Own and enforce social media policy updating as needed or informing others of content
- An administrator for our posting platform Sprout, understanding performance measures, reporting, and analytics
- Track and monitor measures of success, setting stretch targets annually and highlighting insights for leadership team
- Research and complete applications for awards the company applies for or could apply for. If successful making a post campaign to bring positive exposure
- Research opportunities for community involvement and sponsoring for positive online exposure
- Identify opportunities for new social media posts
Internal
- Determine and recommend communication strategies for employee communications and methods (including things like large scale hourly employee meetings)
- Create internal communication standard operating procedures (SOP's) and templates holding teams accountable to these
- Work with stakeholders on communications projects (likely within the HR team)
- Responsible for employee new hire and promotion announcements
- Be an expert in our employee app Jostle, recommending new feature use, best practices, and how to boost usage. This includes screening all posts prior to being posted from others
- Liaise with IT on TV communication needs and/or troubleshooting
Personal Development
- Attend company required training
- Remain current with technical knowledge in areas of responsibility
- Attend regular 1:1 coaching/update sessions
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Design or marketing knowledge an asset
- Degree in a related field of study
- 3 years minimum of experience in professional communication
- Experience using social media platforms
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Creativity and innovation are a must have

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Office environment that may require occasional production floor area visits for communications projects and initiatives.
