Job Overview
The Jr. Banking System Administrator is responsible for accurately maintaining the Temenos banking System, delivering effective solutions within the banking system, and providing support for IT projects and deliverables.
Role
- Proactively monitor and maintain the Temenos banking system
- Accurately analyze and thoroughly investigate any Temenos T24 (Transact) banking system incidents
- Provide second line support (operator escalation) as needed
- Be a true team player by supporting and training the Banking System Operators
- Actively manage deployments of releases for Temenos T24 (Transact) (Core and CAMB)
- Receive direction from the Team Lead, IT Operations for all time and work scheduling relating to the banking platform operations
- Support the management of the test system environment
- In a timely manner deal with Product Analysis and Custom Support on all Temenos issues
- Support the release process to test systems and/or production
- Be actively involved in supporting server deployments and configuration and effectively manage configuration changes
- Diligently be involved in system and application tuning including COB, TAFJ, JBoss, Redhat, AMQ and other related T24 applications
- Be attentive when delivering server administration operations including service management, incident management, change management, and problem management
- Eagerly support and manage Disaster Recovery and Highly Available plans and participate in the design of solutions
- Maintain backup and restores as needed
- Able to use Data Warehouse Export tool for extracting data
- Stay ahead of current industry trends, new technologies and services that impact member and employee experience
- Utilize Lean methodology to streamline work processes and realize cost and resource efficiencies
- Consider health & safety as a primary concern to ensure the safety of self and others
- Perform other duties as required
Required Skills
- Working towards a post-secondary diploma or degree in computer science or equivalent in a related program
- Have experience with IT applications including but not limited to TAFJ, Redhat, AMQ, JBase and JBoss
- Able to solve technical issues, and be resourceful in the way you find a solution
- Be quick to respond to requests for service from all of your clients
- Be analytical and detailed oriented when dealing with technical support issues and IT projects
- Be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
- Demonstrate a high level of integrity and be trustworthy
- Be approachable with your superior interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate superior communication skills
- Use your problem solving skills to take action in difficult and challenging situations and deal with uncertainty
- Be aware of and mitigate enterprise risk factors and ensure compliance with applicable regulations, legislation and FirstOntario policies and procedures
