The Technology Services Division of Service New Brunswick is searching for an individual who would enjoy a meaningful and rewarding career in the support and advancement of IT Operations. As a Network Analyst, you will provide support in the operation and maintenance of the network infrastructure of Service New Brunswick which delivers infrastructure services across all areas of the New Brunswick Government. You will be supported by highly skilled teams, located throughout New Brunswick.

As a member of the Technology Services team, you will be reporting to the Manager of Network Operation and be a technical resource focusing on operation and maintenance of network and communications infrastructure.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Working on issues or assignments from deskside support analysts, the helpdesk or end users
• Working with vendors and senior analysts to bring projects and assignments to resolution
• Participating in the construction and implementation of various projects and initiatives.
• Participating in each area of the ITIL scope, including management of: Service, configuration, incident, problem, change, service level, availability, capacity, continuity and financial
• Working within the technical standards in place, and to contribute or maintain the necessary documentation for the technologies in use at Service New Brunswick
• Working within project plans and timelines established by project management.
• Expected to stay current in their field and with the technologies implemented at Service New Brunswick.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Completed university degree in Computer Science or a related discipline plus a minimum of four (4) years of experience in network analysis OR successful completion of a two-year related discipline college program plus a minimum of six (6) years of experience in network analysis. Subject to the response to this competition, an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered, or the required years of experience may be increased.

Understanding of several of the following areas: networking – LAN, WAN, Wireless, Remote Access technologies and other network solutions.

Written and spoken competence English is required.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate they have training or experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Knowledge of Cisco equipment
• Proven ability to effectively handle, organize and prioritize multiple duties and assignments, and provide direction and coaching to team members.
• Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, supported by good verbal and written communication skills.

Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: This position may require some travelling within the province therefore candidates must possess a valid New Brunswick driver's license or be in a position to obtain one.

Must be able to provide periodic off-hours on-call support. After-hour project and maintenance work is required.

Ability to work in mechanical environments (datacenters, interstitial space, closets).

Ability to pack, unpack, configure, lift, carry or install technical equipment.

Candidates will be required to undergo a Criminal History Clearance prior to appointment and must be willing to obtain a security clearance.

Salary : $54,548- $76,284 annually – Pay Band 4 - Management and Non-Union Pay Plan
