Marine Atlantic is currently looking for a Customer Service Positions Argentia to work with our Terminal Operations department, located in Argentia, NL. .

The successful candidates could work in any of the following positions based on education and work experience:

• Ticket Clerk – responsible for greeting customers and selling tickets
to the passengers.
• Senior Administration Tickets – responsible for office administration and reservation/ticketing application administration.
• Traffic Director – responsible for directing traffic all traffic on Marine Atlantic property and records and controls drop trailer traffic
leaving compound using the Terminal Management System.
• Freight Handler/Stevedore – responsible for unloading and loading of passenger and commercial vehicles on board the vessel, securing and releasing the vessel, and directing traffic on to the vehicle desks.
• Tractor Trailer Operator – responsible for off-loading and loading of the drop trailers from and to the vessel. Performs pre-inspection of fifth wheel units before operating and ensures that Rolocs are safety locked underneath the trailers prior to loading.
• Terminal Assistant – cleans the terminal and ticket booths; clears snow and spreads salt; and assists with baggage handling.
• Chauffeur – responsible for driving the shuttle bus, assisting passengers, checking baggage, sorting and delivering mail, picking up and delivering materials and janitorial duties.

• Assist in the accomplishment of company objectives by performing other related duties as required.

What qualifications do I need to be considered for this opportunity?

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalency.
• Ability to deal with the general public in a professional manner displaying excellent customer service skills.

Preferred Asset Qualifications for Selected Positions

• Competent typing skills (25 wpm) and keyboarding skills.
• Competent with Microsoft Office.
• Relevant post secondary education preferred for selected positions.
• Office Administrative Assistant Diploma from a recognized institution.
• Experience working in an office or call center environment.
• Supervisory or team lead experience.
• Experience working with a computerized ticket/reservation system
• Knowledge of Transportation of Dangerous Goods and WHIMIS.
• Ability to lift, handle and carry heavy objects up to 22.3 kg.
• Valid Newfoundland and Labrador Class 5 Driver's License.
• Valid Newfoundland and Labrador Class 1 Driver's License with Air Brake endorsement.
• Valid Newfoundland and Labrador Class 2 Driver's License.

Please note: For certain positions, candidates must successfully pass a typing test (25 wpm) and keyboarding testing. Candidates should live within commuting distance from the terminal. These positions are unionized, and the successful candidates will become members of the United Steelworkers Union.
