Job description
Reports to: Vice President, Quality
Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, and implement effective quality assurance policies and procedures.
- Develop, test, monitor, and modify processes for every defined cycle.
- Create, review, and test technical specifications documents, testing plans, and test cases for effectiveness and adequacy.
- Plan, calculate, prioritize, and coordinate quality testing activities.
- Test products and services to identify and rectify deficiencies by suggesting enduring solutions to eliminate problems in processes and products.
- Inspect and test raw materials for final production of products.
- Document entire cycle of planning and developing products and conducting internal audits.
- Collect and work on feedback provided from customers.
- Recommend and implement necessary corrective and preventive actions.
- Identify and organize training for the production and quality teams.
- Perform risk analysis and management activities.
- Ensure prevalent compliance with industry regulatory requirements.
- Oversee Quality Control, Sanitation, Product Formulation, and designated Plant QC leaders.
- Observe all safety rules and promote a safe working environment with team members.
- Compliance with all rules & policies regarding health safety, occupational safety, environmental safety, food safety, legal regulations, company requirements, etc.
- Compliance with the Company's Integrated Management Systems which includes, but is not limited to Production, Quality, Food Safety & GMP.
- Other duties as assigned.
Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in food sciences or related field is required
- 10+ years of experience in the food manufacturing industry with hands on experience and knowledge in the beverage manufacturing industry is required
- Certifications an asset including Quality Auditor, Quality Engineer, Quality Improvement Associate, Six Sigma
- Skill in organization, analysis, time management, and the ability to meet deadlines for multiple tasks
- Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), and instructional software
- Commitment to continuous improvement and quality of support and service
- Good interpersonal skills and communication skills to interact with all levels of management
- Excellent leadership, team building, and management skills to effectively mentor, lead, and train staff
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
