The Compliance Analyst is accountable for providing advice, guidance, supporting change management and leading projects to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
A Typical Day Could Include:
- Developing and enforcing policies, guidelines, procedures, controls, and reporting to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations including but not limited to data protection legislation.
- Providing advice, support and contributing in training employees on compliance related matters.
- Monitoring and handling sanction screening and performing due diligence reviews as part of counter-terrorism financing activities.
- Actively supporting the Business with data protection events such as data breach management, subject access request, and data protection impact assessment.
- Actively supporting the Business with Third-Party due diligence activities including privacy assessments and compliance contract reviews.
- Performing monitoring activities on the complaint handling process.
- Contributing to the enforcement of the GGHS governance framework.
- Participating in various change management and compliance projects.
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree, advanced diploma or equivalent directly related work experience.
- 2 years of experience in Compliance, Legal, Risk, Audit, Control or any related field.
- Curious, detail oriented and capable of working independently.
- Comfortable interacting with various stakeholders and able to build relationships.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Visio, and Power Point.
- Knowledge of data protection legislations (GDPR, PIPEDA, HIPAA) is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of anti-money laundering, international sanctions, and counter-terrorist financing risks is a great asset.
- Good understanding of insurance processes is an asset.
- Ability to fluently speak, read, and write in different languages is an asset.
