Job description
Our client, an industry leading testing laboratory, is looking to bring onboard a Regional Business Development Manager to grow and develop their NHP (Natural Health Products) business across a designated territory.
Core Responsibility
Responsible for devising effective territory sales strategies and plans to drive new and current business growth in selected accounts and/or markets.
Additional Responsibilities
- Revenue growth for the Business and assigned markets/areas by achieving sales targets for designated regions and sectors.
- Develop a robust account plan focused on double digit growth through strategic customer partnerships and new customer acquisitions based on market trends, regulatory change, competitive opportunities, or innovation.
- Assist in the development of annual sales plan with senior Business Leaders to include sales targets/budgets, competitive activity/intelligence, sales efforts, and promotion programs.
- Integrate and be involved with the NHP market to support Industry partners and regulatory opportunities to further develop our client's leadership in NHP.
- Lead efforts to identify and engage potential clients, assess value, negotiate service agreements, and manage client relationships including all technical sales conversations with clients.
- Maintain close working relationships with company operations management to ensure alignment between market opportunities, business development activities and operations capabilities.
- Partner with lab operations in support of customer onboarding and ongoing client communication.
- Communicate the company’s NHP brand message and services to all clients.
- Ensure clients of the company’s deep and current understanding of the NHP industries and the challenges and opportunities of these markets, with a focus on areas in which we can provide value.
Requirements
- 3-5 years' experience of customer facing industry specific experience in pharmaceutical, nutraceutical or NHP industries in sales/business development role involving sales, relationship building with clients, contract negotiation and account management.
- Experience with business to business and business to consumer sales techniques.
- Working knowledge of the natural health products (NHP) sector – major companies, stakeholders, business models, regulatory environment
- Understanding of analytical technologies and methods used in pharmaceutical, health product and/or agri-food industries.
- Proven ability to prospect and close new customers and accounts in a competitive landscape.
- Experience maintaining and optimizing client relationship management systems and processes for the purposes of managing and reporting
