Summary of Position: The Construction Administrator will actively support the Senior Project Manager or Associate on multiple projects. As a contract administrator in the architecture field, you are responsible for overseeing the contract between all parties during the construction phase. You act as an impartial administrator to both parties, ensuring the contract terms are followed, quality of work is maintained, and any issues or disputes are resolved.
Role Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Project Manager (PM) and project teams
- Attend site meetings, prepare site reports, and deficiency lists
- Ensure that design intent has been carried out throughout construction
- Review and discuss with PM all changes that may affect design intent or code compliance
- Assist PM with production and coordination of construction documents
- Assist PM with client and consultant coordination
- Maintain up-to-date project records
- Work on multiple projects concurrently
- Stay current with construction methods, products, codes, and technological advancements
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Architecture or Technical program
- 5 + years of local experience conducting on-site visits, preparing site reports for high-rise residential, multifamily, and mixed-use developments
- 5 + years of experience with multifamily wood frame construction
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Experience with Vectorworks and SketchUp
- Thorough understanding of current building codes: BCBC and VBBL
- Ability to meet tight project deadlines
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to work remotely with minimal supervision
- Must possess a valid BC driver’s license and must have their own vehicle for site visits

- Eligible to work in BC
