Job description
We are a global leader in the design, development and distribution of extrusion and
converting technology. Our systems encompass over 14 product lines to support manufacturing
applications and customers in a wide variety of industries, including automotive, building and;
construction, consumer products, medical and packaging. Our company has manufacturing and
technical facilities in the United States, Canada, China, Germany, Finland, Switzerland and the
United Kingdom.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday Days 8am-5pm
-Location: Aurora,ON but we will move to Brampton by end of June
- Pay rate: $30/hr Full time hire
Job Purpose:
· Lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications and supplied manufacturing drawings, using straightedge,combination square, calipers, and ruler.
· Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies, using electric, gas,arc, or other welding equipment.
· A welder is responsible for fusing pieces of metal together to join metal parts, fill a hole, or fix seams in metal.
· Their duties include finding the correct tools to properly ignite the torch and
welding machine for the specific type of metal, positioning, lining up, and securing all metal pieces according to design specifications prior to welding, and joining these pieces together.
Responsibilities:
· Read and interpret welding blueprint drawings, Iinterpret where required welding process Specifications
· Fit and weld all supplied material per drawings, communicate with Engineering when there are issues
· Operate manual or semi-automatic, (MIG Wire fed mainly)fully automated welding equipment
· Fit, braze and torch-straighten metal
· Able to safely Ooperate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), (AOC),
· Determine weld ability of materials
· Operate hoisting and lifting equipment
· Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
· Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding , brazing and soldering equipment
· Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes
· Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications
· Follows and comply with all Operational Procedures and Health and Safety rules and policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Quality and Environment programs and H& S Manual
· Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications
· Practice good housekeeping.
· Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
· High School Diploma or GED desired.
· Certification of basic welding skills and/or two years welding experience in welding/fitting & fabricating.
· Able to work overtime shifts as required
· Able to handle up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
· CWB welding certification preferred
· Previous welding experience required
