BC Market Manager (outside sales)

Job description
Our client is a thriving manufacturer of pipes, valves and related waterworks products. Due to their development plans, they are adding a Commercial Market Manager who will be selling directly to new and existing Manufacturing Representatives and Wholesale Distributors across British Columbia while also dealing with end-users, contractors, owners, and engineers.
The ideal candidate is someone technically inclined, with a strong understanding of manufacturing & specification processes, and a proven track record of successfully selling industrial products to a distribution network.
This a full-time, permanent position offering the opportunity to work alongside the company’s counterpart in the United States and gaining exposure to the whole North American market. A hybrid model (combination of office and remote work) will be offered as well. Candidates are required to reside anywhere in the Greater Vancouver Area to be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute detailed sales strategies spanning annually, quarterly, and monthly periods to propel market initiatives forward
- Manage existing portfolio while pursuing growth through new business and conversion opportunities
- Cultivate relationships with end users, contractors, owners, and engineers, nurturing long-term partnerships
- Conduct regular presentations and educational sessions
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and meetings to stay abreast of market trends
- Conduct installation demonstrations, site visits and application reviews to ensure best practices are followed
- Monitor market trends and provide insightful reports to management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategic business plans
- Maintain accurate records in Salesforce.com for project tracking and client management
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education and 5+ years of experience in an outside sales role, ideally within the industrial sector
- Proficiency in computer applications and programs, including Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational skills and mechanical aptitude
- Excellent public speaking and presentation abilities
- Ability to interpret and execute instructions effectively
- Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and ability to lift 50lbs
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- Strong judgment and decision-making abilities
- In-depth knowledge of sales channels and competitors’ products
- Excellent multitasking and organizational skills
- Exceptional administrative and interpersonal skills
